Source and reading notes

Names, hierarchy, numerical ages and background colours are transcribed from the supplied ICS International Chronostratigraphic Chart v2026/06. Colours follow the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CGMW), as stated in the source. Text colours are adjusted for readability.

Precambrian comprises the Proterozoic, Archean and Hadean eons. A dash indicates that the source does not show a subdivision at that rank. Original names, approximate ages (~) and uncertainty values (±) are preserved.

Numerical ages are subject to revision. They do not define Phanerozoic or Ediacaran units; GSSPs do. Informal names and unnamed-unit placeholders are retained from the source.
