How to read this view
Raw preserves each article mention, polygon and line feature. Unified groups compatible exact normalized names and explicit self-asserted synonyms in the articles; map polygons are grouped by their GEO code. Lines retain their individual identity. This is automatic unification, not human-reviewed curation. Similar spelling alone is not used to merge names.
The literature tree uses explicit part_of assertions. Multiple parents remain visible; circular paths are marked and cannot expand indefinitely. Map geology is organised by map code, and lines by their source type. These are browsing groups, not an inferred stratigraphic sequence. Literature units and map units are not equated without a shared identifier.
Contact means polygons share a boundary of positive length. A point touch does not count. Crosses means a line enters a polygon's interior and also extends outside it. Runs within and Follows boundary are reported separately. Intersections are computed in the source metric CRS with no snapping or buffer tolerance; near-misses are not promoted to contacts. Overlapping polygons are excluded from contact pairs and recorded in the build audit.
All supplied IGME polygons and lines are processed. Country and geological-province names are assigned by positive-area overlap; they are context, not clipping masks. The countries file covers only its 17 supplied countries. Blank spatial context does not mean the unit is outside every country or province.
Raw measurements are projected metres, not geodesic survey lengths. Unified relations report raw observation counts instead of summing possibly overlapping segments. Spatial intersection identifies mapped incidence, not the geological age or kinematic history of a fault. No coordinates or geometries are loaded by this page.
