Geological units, mineral occurrences and the geometry that gives them context — Carpathian–Balkan region.
canonical_name values by exact text match across every
data_extraction/extraction_<id>.json file — it does not merge synonyms, translations or
historical names the way the pipeline's own curation step (lexicon.py: resolve() /
merge_into() / possible_merge) does. The curated graph lives in
app_lexicon_carpathian_balkan and has not been exported to this site yet — see the note at the
bottom of this page.
Click a row to see every article that mentions that exact name. Rank and category come straight
from the LLM extraction (rank, category, body_type in
extraction_v2.schema.json) — see Nomenclature for what those terms mean.
Background geology for the region — not a map of the units above: the lexicon has no per-unit coordinates (confirmed by schema review, 02/09) so nothing here can be "pinned" to a named unit yet. Table only, no map (Natacha, 09/09) — these are the same layers catalogued in Sources → Geological Surveys and Institutions → Vector and the Structure layer from Stratigraphy, shown here for quick reference while browsing the lexicon.
Pending: promote the pipeline's curated build (stratigraphy.json, hierarchy, applied merges) to
this site instead of (or alongside) the raw per-article view above — see project notes, 05/09.
