TSXV Corporate Network
Companies linked through shared service firms, mineral properties, and commodity focus — mapped from the historical TSX Venture / CDNX corporate database.
This maps the historical TSX Venture / CDNX corporate database as a network: every company (including ones delisted decades ago) connected to the service firms that ran its back office, the mineral properties it claimed, and the commodity it classified itself under.
What it's for
- Promoter networks. Companies clustered around the same auditor, law firm, transfer agent, or sponsor often share the same people behind the scenes — a classic pattern for recycled TSXV shells and recurring promoters.
- Property lineage. The same property claimed by several companies over the decades usually means a change of ownership, an option/JV agreement, or a lapsed claim re-staked later.
- Commodity clusters. Filter to "Mining/resources only" and toggle off firms/properties to see pure commodity clustering — who's chasing gold vs. copper vs. diamonds, across the whole history of the exchange.
- Cross-referencing. Property and company names here can be matched against the SEGWEB literature extraction and SEC EDGAR filings to reconstruct a fuller history from independent sources.
How to read it
- Shared only (default) hides every connection that's unique to one company — a single company with its own exclusive auditor adds noise, not insight. What's left is real clustering.
- Mining/resources only hides companies whose business_types never matched a known mining/mineral classification — useful for filtering out shells that pivoted entirely into unrelated sectors.
- Larger nodes were shared by more companies — these are the ones worth investigating first.
Commodity categories
Grouped from the exchange's raw business_type values (~70 distinct strings) into 16 categories: Gold, Silver, Copper, Base Metals, Diamond/Gemstone, Platinum Group, Uranium, Iron, Coal, Potash, Molybdenum, Rare Metals, Non-Metallic Minerals, General Mining/Exploration, Mining Services, and Mining + Oil & Gas. Anything outside this whitelist counts as non-mining for the filter.

Note on scope
ManagementAffiliations (directors/officers) isn't in this graph yet — the Affiliations scraper only returned an empty selection page in the samples checked so far, so there's no person-level data to plot until that's fixed.
The underlying corporate records come from the TMX Group's Info TSX Venture / CDNX company search. It's a historical lookup tool for listed-company names, business organizations, symbols, NAICS codes, and city/province, maintained by TSX Inc., a subsidiary of TMX Group Inc. The data can be accessed below.
